Fifteen years, every rung, climbed myself. This page is the short version of how, and why this site exists.
The short version
I started working at seventeen because my family needed me to. My first desk was a call centre floor: a headset, a dialler, and more conversations in a day than most people have in a month. Over fifteen years I worked up through every rung: customer service and customer success at very large scale, millions of conversations for some of the world’s largest brands, and then the human side of cybersecurity, where I build customer success journeys for national critical infrastructure and lead business growth at HumanFirewall.
Nobody groomed me. There was no mentor, no counsellor, nobody to say this is how you walk into the room. Everything I know I learned by doing it, usually badly first, in public. That is exactly why I teach now.
The rungs
- The phones. A thousand conversations a day teaches you more about people than any degree: what they fear, what they need, and how to earn trust in ninety seconds.
- Service and success at scale. Customer journeys, health scores, renewals and escalations for global brands. I learned how big companies actually work from inside their engine rooms.
- The self-taught years. Design, video editing, websites, digital marketing, a YouTube channel, and a profitable e-commerce brand of my own, product photography included. Skills stack, and nobody can take them back.
- Human cyber risk. The part of security no tool fixes: why smart people click, why training does not stick, and what actually changes behaviour. My work here spans national critical infrastructure.
- The AI unlock. I am a BCA graduate who could not code well enough back then to build what I imagined. AI removed that wall. Today I build with it every working day, and I founded Quarry, MaaSify and HuMatrix.
What I am doing now
Running growth at HumanFirewall, building three ventures, and turning everything I learn into free tools for your career: fresh jobs caught in the first minutes, live internships and hackathons, a prompt library led by whole-thing rewrites, wallpapers, and a Saturday email worth opening.
Why I write
The 22 year old refreshing a jobs board at midnight is me in 2012. The professional who never got coached for the big interview is me outside that building. I write so your career gets the guide mine never had.
